Presentation at Mountain Travel Symposium

I just had the opportunity to attend the 32nd Annual Mountain Travel Symposium in Squaw Valley, CA and conduct a workshop on Multi Channel Marketing. Once again the event was a dynamic and exciting event combining a Trade Exchange and show format with a Symposium includers speakers and workshops for the attendees. Given the setting and new snow the week would not have been complete without some great skiing and riding. Squaw Valley had over 200 inches of snow in March alone.

The Mountain Travel Symposium was attended by over 1,000 of the movers and shakers in the mountain travel industry. Key note speakers included Robert Kreiger, author of Inner Skiing and consultant. His depiction of the " gaddas" was not to be missed. The second day Phillip Wolff founder of Phocus Wright captivated the audience with his history of online travel and a look into the rapidly approaching future.

Leisure Trends Group involvement in the Symposium and Trade Exchange included:

  • Attending as an exhibitor, LTG provided a White Paper on 2006 Top Email Trends to attendees who came to our booth during the event. A copy is available for you on the Leisure Trends Group site at http://www.leisuretrends.com/local/consumer/reports.asp?report_id=2006%5FEmail%5FTrends as well as our recently released Data Base Management Best Practices.
  • Providing research services for MTS 's on location satisfaction surveys and will entail the event follow up survey as well.
  • Joy Spring COO/VP was on a panel representing the voice of the consumer. The topic was Central Reservations Direct and its Impact on Distribuiton Partners.
  • Break out workshop run by yours truly John Siewierski - Choosing your channel in A Multi Channel Marketing world. Great attendance and unfortunately we ran out of time.
We will be posting the entire Power Point presentation for your convenience over the coming days. At that point we will start to request comments on any issues and begin to post topics and ongoing dialog to those in attendance and new prospective invites.
